Granatus Ensemble
Granatus Ensemble
This was my graduation project from l'École de Joaillerie de Montréal, for which I received the Janis Kerman "Coup de Cœur" (favorite) prize in 2019, won 1st place in the Canadian Gemmological Associatio Emerging Artist Design Competition in 2021, and helped me earn the First Presence award at the Salon des Métiers d'Art de Montréal in 2021.
Made of 18K gold, oxidized sterling silver and set with eight raw demantoid garnets crystals from the Jeffrey mine in Val-Des-Sources (ex Asbestos), Quebec, Canada, and two tsavorite garnets on the clasps. It is composed of rhombic dodecahedrons, representing the most common crystal habit of the garnet group.
It took me 200+ hours, over 15 weeks to make. Each gold dodecahedron has 22 solders, and the silver ones were cast in two parts, and so have 4 solders.
I do NOT want to sell it, hence the higher price than it was valued at.
